Taunton-based Claims Consortium Group unveils ILM-accredited leadership training courses

Local businesses could boost their leadership potential with a new Institute of Leadership and Management programme available from Taunton-based Claims Consortium.

The company, which has become a leader in handling claims for major insurers, launched a new training arm in May after the success of its in-house training programme and winning a Next Generation Somerset Award for Outstanding Commitment to Training. The training it provides gives local businesses the opportunity to access innovative learning in leadership and communication skills to boost business performance.

The new ‘Keystone’ programme is available as workshop or distance learning courses and has been developed in-house by Claims Consortium, and accredited independently by the ILM as a level 3 qualification.

Rob Chilcott, Learning and Development Manager at Claims Consortium, helped develop the courses that take a fresh approach to leadership skills. He said: “We have an obsessive belief that the deep human relationship that exists between leaders and their people is the key driver for success. It gives them a unique opportunity to free the potential, capability and empowerment of their people.

“Our leaders are driven by an ability to ensure people in their teams are driven to support each other, create their own solutions and do the best they can day on day. This is great for our business, and we feel confident it will enhance other organisations in the same way.”

The programme enables learners to study in a way that suits them or the employer, with workshop and distance learning options available.

The ILM believes 50% of employers saw a return on the training investment with ILM within three months. Claims Consortium has been providing ‘liveBIG’ leadership and empowerment training to businesses since May, and has other recent successes including insurance industry awards, two Institute of Customer Service awards and the Queen’s Award for Enterprise.
