New Chamber Member Swan Paul Partnership Ltd, a landscape architecture practice based in Taunton, was appointed back in 2018 by (the then) West Somerset Council to design and implement public realm improvements on Minehead’s Eastern Promenade.
Several rounds of public consultation were undertaken to find out the most popular choices for improvement features which were then included into the designs.
The works included new seating, seaside planting, trees, play areas and paving, together with some feature lighting and were funded by the Hinkley Point C Community Impact Mitigation Fund.
The construction, managed by Swan Paul, began in spring 2019 and was completed late summer. It has been enjoyed by locals and visitors alike, providing a welcome boost to the visitor experience at Minehead. More information is available online at: www.swanpaul.co.uk.
