SSG Training and Consultancy was proud to support the 2019 Armed Forces Day, including exhibiting at an official event in Plymouth last weekend.
SSG has a strong military background, with many of their consultants and trainers, as well as associate members, having previously served in the forces; ranging from Royal Engineers to Royal Navy to the Defence Fire Service.
In 2017, SSG joined 1,300 other businesses in adopting and signing the Armed Forces Covenant and in October 2018 they were proud recipients of the ‘Armed Forces Covenant Employer Recognition Scheme Silver Award’.
By signing the covenant, SSG endeavours to provide support in the employment of veterans young and old, service spouses and partners, and their own employees who choose to be members of the Reserve forces.
Tim Harnett, Tutor and Consultant at SSG, serves as a member of the Territorial Army Reserves as well as a number of team members who are military spouses with partners who routinely deploy on overseas operations.
SSG is also an accredited ELCAS and CTP training provider, having delivered training to Royal Navy, Royal Marines, Royal Air Force and Army personnel in the last 24 months for both resettlement purposes and ongoing career development.
The team had a great time welcoming everyone to the stand and discussing the many ways in which SSG can help both businesses and individuals.
Kim Halls, Membership Advisor at SSG Training and Consultancy, said: “SSG had a very successful day. We were able to have lots of conversations with people interested in Health and Safety Training; especially our Mental Health First Aid courses. We’re looking forward to attending next year already!”
