Somerset Passenger Solutions proudly supported Macmillan’s ‘World’s Biggest Coffee Morning’ by organising a coffee and cake day on September 24 at their offices in Bridgwater.
There were a variety of delicious cakes on offer lovingly baked and donated from staff across the organisation.
Thanks to the generosity and support of SPS staff, a huge £990 was raised. This will all go to Macmillan Cancer Support who provide physical, financial and emotional support to people living with cancer.
SPS Driver, Kate Turner, organised the annual event and also made the vast majority of the cakes. She was determined to top the total raised last year (£700) and did just that.
SPS Star Baker, Kate Turner said: “I am so proud of everyone. All who baked cakes, thank you! All that came with pockets full of money to buy cakes, thank you! All those that helped get the cakes to where they needed to be, thank you! From the people that promoted the event, to the people putting up bunting balloons and people giving up their days off to come and help me, thank you!”
Bex Sinclair, People Director, added: “We were thrilled to take part in the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning. MacMillan is a fantastic cause and it was great to see so many colleagues come along and support the event. The amount SPS staff have raised will make a huge difference to the lives of the people in our local, work and wider community who are living with cancer.”
