Chamber member, Langport-based Somerset Business Agency (SBA) is providing support to businesses throughout Taunton Deane, Mendip, South Somerset, West Somerset and Sedgemoor through The Growth Support Programme.
SBA has provided business advice and support to thousands of businesses and individuals across the region and has had the pleasure of watching individuals and businesses thrive with the guidance that our excellent specialist advisors provide.
The Growth Support Programme provides businesses with an initial diagnostic meeting, on a 1:1 basis with an experienced business advisor to get to know the client and their business.
During this meeting, the advisor will work with the client to create a development plan and to identify any areas where additional support could be of help. This meeting can be conducted either by telephone or via one of the many online platforms such as Zoom or Microsoft Teams.
If after the initial diagnostic it is determined that further support is required, the client will be offered the opportunity to commit to a further nine-hour support package delivered by our business specialists. They can choose from a range of modules including Business Planning, Business Finance, Marketing, HR and an assessment of Digital Opportunities depending on their needs. 
SBA advisors will also signpost clients to other assistance and programme for business support where possible.
Businesses are also referred to another Chamber member, COSMIC, when they need help using digital technologies effectively. Quite often the businesses that we work with are aware of the benefits of digital technologies, they just need a little advice, guidance and support to get the most from them.
For example, businesses invest large sums in websites because they understand they’re important for building a brand, winning more customers and selling their products or services online.
But they may need our help to be found online and to increase sales and leads. They may need some advice on what to say to their customers on social media or how to develop a Facebook or Instagram Ads campaign. A few tips on how to produce good quality video and upload it to YouTube or Facebook, or some guidance developing a digital marketing strategy.
