SBA CIC has been appointed as the business support agency for the new enterprise centre in Chard.
Recently opened, the centre is part of the Somerset Enterprise Centre Network which also has centres in Barle, Bruton, Frome, Highbridge, Minehead, Wells, Wheddon Cross, Williton and Wiveliscombe.
Patricia Marks, CEO of SBA CIC said: “This is a great opportunity for us to support businesses within Chard, with advice and guidance from our team of expert business advisors.
“We are keen to ensure Chard is recognised as one of the best towns in the county to start or relocate your business to.”
A spokesperson for the centre added: “With SBA CIC as the organisation at the helm to deliver support to Chard businesses, we are confident that skills within organisations will increase with the help of our training hub, leading to business growth and expansion and also further employment opportunities.
“As well as training, SBA CIC will offer employment advice, innovation support, environmental awareness and mentoring opportunities, initially to the tenants of the centre at regular intervals throughout their tenancy, but also extending this to other organisations to improve the economic growth county-wide.”
SBA CIC offers prestart and start-up support to individuals who are seeking to become self-employed or start a business, via fully-funded start-up courses.
