Somerset Chamber Member New leaf has been given a Silver Award by The Defence Employer Recognition Scheme and the UK Ministry of Defence.
Becky Wright, Founder of New Leaf, said: “For us signing The Covenant is about doing the right thing for Armed Forces people. In the past year we have offered free places to veterans, military charities, reserves, military spouses and service leavers and they are now fully qualified mental health first aiders. They can use this qualification with any job their further apply for.”
The course provided a much-needed level playing field from those from the military to meet and integrate with the civilian business community. Becky said such military and civilian integration could allow the possibility of new work opportunities.

New Leaf has also become a CTP preferred supplier for the UK Ministry of Defence with help throughout from the Wessex RFCA. They are looking forward to a regional award ceremony when planned.
