Music festival to raise awareness of men's health

What do music festivals and testicular cancer have in common?  Test Fest – a musical festival organised by South West charity It’s in the Bag (IITB) to promote men’s health and raise awareness of testicular cancer, with the aim of saving lives!

It is the only music festival of its kind in the UK and probably the only festival where it is absolutely normal for people to routinely wear orange pants on the outside!

The festival takes place in June at Taunton Rugby Football Club and, unlike many festivals, appears to be bucking the trend in terms of ticket sales.

Not only is it about cancer awareness, but many survivors and their families attend and catch-up with those who have had treatment, those just diagnosed or those still receiving treatment.

There is still a trend for most of the bands and artists to donate their performance to the charity or play at a very reduced rate. This year Test Fest takes place on Saturday, June 15, and features The Leylines, Filta, Danny McMahon, Twisted Vinyl, The Priddice Brothers Band, Big Brass Ska Band, Placeholder, Rock Choir, Tempus, Richard Huish College Bands Illicit and Ash Band.

IITB is also supported by patrons Downsy – MC/Compare and Nutty Noah – Family Entertainer.

IITB’s aims are to support men at diagnosis and during treatment, raise awareness to encourage early detection and celebrate the 96% survival rate from Penzance to Worcester.
