Milsted Langdon Partner named as finalist in Successful Women in Business Awards

The Successful Women in Business Awards has announced that Gill Freeman, a Partner and Head of Charity and Not for Profit at South West accountancy firm Milsted Langdon, has been shortlisted as a finalist.

Judges at the awards, which will be held at The George Albert Hotel and Spa in Dorset on Friday, 7 June, 2019, have named Gill as a finalist in the Professional Services category for her outstanding work at the firm.

The category celebrates women who have delivered excellent customer service and supported their industry in championing the cause of other women.

Gill has been a Partner at Milsted Langdon since May 2011, having joined the practice in 2005. She works with owner-managed businesses across many sectors and is also a specialist in advising charities and not-for-profit organisations.

Speaking about her shortlisting at the awards, Gill said: “I am truly honoured to be selected as a finalist at the 2019 Successful Women in Business Awards.

“This accolade is not only a reflection of my own work, but it is a wider recognition of the fantastic services and advice provided by our firm.

“When I first started out in accountancy, there were usually no female partners and it was very rare to see other women at networking events – I’m pleased to see that is no longer the case. As a firm, we’re very proud that our gender split is 50% male, 50% female.

“I also organise a number of women-only events for our professional contacts, which are extremely popular, where ladies can feel empowered and encouraged to try their hand at traditionally male-dominated activities such as golf and outdoor pursuits”.

Gill added that she was looking forward to attending the event with her colleague and Yeovil General Practice Manager, Jemma Hodder.
