Milsted Langdon celebrates the success of its team with multiple promotions

Award-winning South West accountancy firm, Milsted Langdon, has announced the promotion of 10 members of staff who have demonstrated outstanding enthusiasm and commitment to the profession, the firm and its clients.

The practice, which has offices in Bath, Bristol, Taunton, Yeovil and London, is working hard to support its clients through the current crisis and wanted to celebrate the success of its team with promotions.

Matt Bryant (Bristol), Linh Hoang (Bristol), Emily Godfrey (Taunton), Ben Nation (Taunton) and tax specialist Carrie-Anne Hutchins (Taunton) have all been promoted to supervisors at the firm and will oversee the work of the various teams in their new role.

Meanwhile, Jemma Hodder (Yeovil) has been promoted to Manager within the general practice team having spent 13 years working at the practice.

Milsted Langdon has also promoted Abi Kingsbury within the tax team (Yeovil) and Steve Contreras (Taunton) to the position of Senior Manager.

Abi has more than nine years’ experience working in the field of taxation and specialises in capital gains tax (‘CGT’) planning on asset disposal with particular expertise in the agriculture and rural affairs sector.

Steve is an experienced accountant, having worked in the profession since 1993. He is a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (FCCA).

The two most senior promotions at the firm are Dan Kenyon (Bath) and Vanessa Clark (Bristol and Bath), who have been appointed as Directors at Milsted Langdon.

Dan joined Milsted Langdon as an audit and accounts junior in 2006 and successfully qualified as a Chartered Certified Accountant (ACCA) in 2011. He has worked immensely hard to support a wide range of small and medium-sized owner-managed businesses. Dan rose through the ranks as an integral part of the firm’s Business Innovation team, which has enabled him to work with a large number of clients to improve the quality of their management information.

Vanessa is a highly qualified tax specialist and previously worked for a top ten accountancy practice, joining Milsted Langdon in 2014. Vanessa manages a diverse portfolio of personal clients, including self-employed people, directors of owner-managed businesses, trusts and high net worth individuals, dealing with all aspects of their tax compliance and advising on tax issues and planning opportunities. She has particular expertise in assisting individuals with residency and domicile issues and also regularly advises clients on inheritance tax matters.

Rachel Hotham, People Partner at Milsted Langdon (pictured), said: “I would like to congratulate all of those who have received a promotion. We think it speaks volumes about the hard work of our staff and the career progression at our practice.

“Our team have adapted incredibly well to the current crisis, in part thanks to the modern technology and cloud accounting systems that we employ, as well as their dedication to ensuring clients’ needs are well serviced. We are delighted that we can celebrate their success in this way.”
