X-Press Legal Services is a family-run business providing property search services to solicitors and conveyancers, delivered by helpful and friendly experts.
As a business that is only as good as its last search, the first thing the company did during lockdown was to research individual councils to ascertain it could still access the information needed to provide quality-regulated searches.
Once each office had obtained the information, this was pooled through the network, so every staff member knew which councils were able to provide the correct information. For those councils that basically closed their doors, X-Press Legal Services staff worked with them to ascertain when they would be able to provide data for regulated searches. In the Somerset area it was and is business as usual.
Once the company knew its supply chain was open, the IT department created a dedicated X-Press Legal Services channel for conveyancing training webinars for staff and clients on a remote access basis.
X-Press Legal Services’s Linda Wright has now provided three sessions on planning, with forthcoming sessions due to feature remote ID checks with new business partner Thirdfort. Other topics in the pipeline include a change to septic tanks regulations. The X-Press channel records the webinar, enabling staff and clients to watch live or at their leisure.
