Over two weekends in June, King’s Hall staff members Antonia Cheeseman and Siobhan Keeling took in the breathtaking sights of the Jurassic Coast as they completed two separate walking challenges.
Head of Learning Strategies at the school, Antonia, was joined by her two sisters for the Jurassic Coast Challenge. The trio, who referred to themselves as the ‘Kirby Krawlers’ – a play on their maiden name, navigated the 42km trek in aid of the British Heart Foundation, a charity that is close to their family. As a result of their efforts, the team raised over £900, smashing their initial target of £750.
Following in her footsteps, quite literally, was school nurse, Siobhan Keeling. Siobhan took part in Macmillan’s Mighty Hike Challenge with friend and former King’s Hall pupil Marianne Parr. The duo hiked from Weymouth to Wareham, covering a total of 26 miles along the magnificent coast.
Siobhan said: “Over the years we both toyed with the idea of a challenge. As we have friends who are currently living with cancer, we thought the Macmillan hike would be a great way to support them.”
So far the pair have raised over £1,200, with donations still pouring in.
