Joy for Taunton School GCSE students after another unsettled exam year

Year 11 students from Taunton School have received an outstanding set of GCSE and iGCSE results despite another year of COVID disruption.

“After a second challenging academic year, I am hugely proud of our Year 11 students for achieving a brilliant set of GCSE results. Their commitment to their studies, including in the periods of remote learning, has been richly rewarded. We look forward to welcoming many of them into our Sixth Form in September for A Level, IB or BTEC courses,” said Deputy Head Academic, Damian Henderson.

Headmaster Lee Glaser said: “Our students very much deserve their excellent results. They have dealt with unprecedented challenges and can move on to the next stage of their education with great pride. The students, and their teachers, have been outstanding.”

Among the top achievers this year were: Elizabeth Dutton, Evie Gulliver and Helen Hounslow  (eight 9s, two 8s and an A in additional maths), Sophie Austin (four 9s, five 8s and a 7), Kate Blackmore-Greasley (five 9s, two 8s, a 7 and a B in additional maths), Henry Collins (six 9s, four 8s and an A in additional maths), Luke Cunningham (four 9s, four 8s and a 7), Annabelle Mellenchip (seven 9s, two 8s and a B in additional maths), Ihina Painuly (five 9s and four 8) and Nathan Roberts (six 9s, four 8s and a B in additional maths).
