Jays Logistics collects Ukraine aid from customers to help refugees

Jays Logistics is helping to provide aid to those caught up in the conflict in Ukraine. Together with sister company R T Keedwell, the firm is collecting donations and pallets from customers and organising onward travel and logistics.

The Association of Pallet Networks and The Pallet Network has been appealing for donations to be sent to Poland to help refugees from war-torn Ukraine.

A spokesman for the appeal said: “As everyone is painfully aware, the situation within Ukraine and of the women and children fleeing across its borders, becomes worse daily. The Association of Pallet Networks (APN) has proposed a joint sectoral effort to gather necessary items and send them out through a specialist European transport service which has some experience of working in conflict zones.”

The first lorry-load of aid sets off this week but donations will continue to collected from customers for the foreseeable future.

Donated items needed include:

  • Formula milk
  • Nappies
  • Wet wipes
  • Baby food
  • Sanitary items
  • Antiseptic cream
  • Oxygen masks
  • Dry food – all kind of instant soups etc to poured with hot water
  • Energy bars
  • Thermal blankets

  • Personal hygiene products
  • Toothbrushes and toothpaste
  • Hairbrushes
  • First aid equipment
  • Bandages

The donations are collected and processed at Jays, who then send them onto a main hub to be shipped out to Poland / Ukraine.
