As lockdown eases, schools and businesses are planning how to move forward and Somerset Skills & Learning (SS&L) wants to know how best to support them, working together towards economic recovery and helping to future-proof the Somerset community.
Apprenticeships have been hit hard by the COVID-19 pandemic and are very much in the national spotlight, with the Government poised to offer a new package of support to encourage employers to take on apprentices. As the new incentives to employ apprentices are announced in the coming weeks, SS&L is launching a survey to gain insight from employers in Somerset, to ensure their offer is fit for the future needs of businesses and organisations.
SS&L will use the survey results to help design new ways of delivery, such as virtual learning and blended learning to meet employers’ needs. The results will also highlight which sector areas are likely to need apprentices in the future, to help support their business recovery.
SS&L has supported over 200 organisations so far this year and are continuing to recruit and place apprentices in schools, childcare settings, local government and businesses across Somerset.
