Hinkley Point C (HPC) worker Jake Davis has raised more than £1,500 for Somerset Chamber member, children’s charity Brainwave.
Jake, who works for contractor Socea-Denys at HPC, wanted to do something for the community so decided to have his head shaved for charity. He raised £600, which was then boosted to more than £1,500 with additional donations from HPC suppliers.
The team at Socea-Denys used the money to buy essential PPE for the charity and was able to donate 400 face visors to Brainwave.
Keith Sinclair, Chief Executive of Brainwave, said: “We are delighted that Socea Denys chose to donate these visors to Brainwave. They will make a huge difference in helping us to safely reopen our centre in Bridgwater and resume supporting children with disabilities ‘face-to-face’ again.
“Thank you to Jake for completing his head shave challenge and raising £1,500 in the process, we really appreciate it.”
