Digital Taunton is fast becoming known as one of the most energetic and vibrant business and technology meet-ups in Somerset, consistently holding monthly events to over 130 people and businesses throughout Somerset.
For many, Digital Taunton has provided opportunities to collaborate, learn and gain insights from different perspectives. Given the recent guidelines, Digital Taunton needed to stop their monthly “in-person” events and consider what could be done to keep the energy going and help support their community.
But instead of going quiet, last Thursday the team entertained over 100 businesses with a live-streamed expert panel and live Q&A from a mixture of business owners around the local area.
Shane Griffiths, Co-Founder of Digital Taunton, said: “We wanted to ensure Digital Taunton was able to offer something more rounded compared to the hundreds of livestreams and webinars people are already offering on individual subjects like remote working etc. We wanted to bring different skill sets together and offered our community the chance to ask questions based on multiple areas of business.
“The internet offers so many possibilities. Many of us have the tools to carry on in the same way as before, it’s just a slightly different approach now. We’re encouraging people to look at the tools available, think positive and seek new ways in how to adapt.”
The expert panel consisted of representatives from area of finance, legal, business management and strategy, social media, PR and communications, remote working and well-being.
It’s likely Digital Taunton will be offering more online events in the coming months, while everyone navigates through this difficult time.
