David Hutchins, Chairman and Senior Consultant of David Hutchins International, has won the professionally coveted ‘Walter Masing Award’ for his book ‘Quality Beyond Borders’.
The award is made annually, when deemed appropriate, at the AGM of the International Academy for Quality (IAQ).
David, who is based in Charlton Mackrell, is currently the sole UK Academician in the International Academy for Quality. IAQ is acknowledged to be the world’s leading authority in the Quality Sciences and Disciplines. Membership is severely limited to those who have a strong and proven record of achievement at the highest level.
He offers Quality Leadership and Quality Fundamental courses through his company.
David said: “Observers in the market place will judge one supplier against another and this will impact on sales and ultimately survival.
“In our society, organisations usually attempt to protect themselves in this respect by appointing a ‘Quality Manager’ who then ostensibly is seen to be ‘responsible for quality’.
“My book challenges this ‘logic’. It argues that ‘quality’ is everybody’s responsibility and is intended to explain how that can be achieved.
“The topic in its entirety is quite complex and not well understood. My book is an attempt to straighten out the rainbow.”
David began teaching and providing consultancy in this subject in 1969 and has worked with almost all of the world’s leading experts. He started his own consulting business in 1976.
