Clerksroom has won the Best Use of Technology Award in the Modern Law Awards 2020 for its Chambers365 Portal for solicitors and barristers. It was also Highly Commended in the Innovation of the Year category.
Launched by Clerksroom in 2019, Chambers365, is a cloud-based case management system which has over 21,000 solicitors and 125 barristers registered users.
Stephen Ward, Managing Director of Clerksroom, said: “Co-founder Harry Hodgkin and I were delighted to receive these accolades at the Modern Law Awards, as Chambers 365 is the result of three years collaboration, ambition and vision to re-engineer the way lawyers and non-lawyers work with Barristers and future proof the traditional chambers model.”
Attending the event with Harry Hodgkin and Clerksroom staff were fellow Chambers 365 collaborators, Lucas Huxtable from Morphsites (Ilminster) and Raymond Hounan, a director of Microsoft.
Chambers365 checks 1.2 million database options as solicitors complete one short online enquiry form, providing them with instant choices as to the specialist barristers available to them as when and where they are required.
Once logged into Chambers365 solicitors can book Counsel, manage their cases, upload papers, review all hearings in the diary, see where fees are not agreed or papers have not been sent, plus see the live status of all outstanding paperwork.
They can also update details, download invoices, run reports and see everything at a glance on their dashboard. This online process has reduced the need for phone calls by 80%.
Stephen added: “Clerksroom is underpinned by award-winning technology and client care. We focus on combining innovation and the application of modern processes to blend the traditional chambers model and help shape the way legal services are accessed and delivered. We are so proud that this ethos has been recognised at such a prestigious awards ceremony.”
