Clarks opens its largest ever outlet store at Clarks Village

One of the UK’s leading footwear brands, Clarks, announces the opening of its new flagship store at Clarks Village, Somerset Outlet Shopping. The store was officially opened in a joint ribbon cutting with Clarks Store Manager Helen Dunn and Chris Davis, Centre Director for Clarks Village.

With a sales floor of 790 sqm, the new Clarks store is the brand’s largest outlet store globally, meaning it can hold around 10,400 pairs of shoes, with anything up to 40,000 pairs on site at any one time! The shoe brand opened its first store at Clarks Village in 1993 and now with the opening of a bigger site, customers will be able to experience even more high quality shoes at great prices.

Clarks was founded in 1825 in Somerset, where it still has its headquarters to this day. Selling more than 50 million pairs of shoes every year, each pair of shoes Clarks makes combines the unmistakable Clarks brand heritage, style, comfort and innovation, creating stylish shoes that are a pleasure to wear. Kids are also catered for, as Clarks provide a free fitting service for children where their feet are measured for length, width and depth.

Helen Dunn, Clarks Store Manager, said: “This was our first outlet store, and it is now our largest in the world, at 1,300 square metres. We can’t wait to welcome our customers back and provide them with a first-class shopping experience.

“There is now even more space to aid social distancing while you browse our range of shoes, handbags and accessories. We have everything needed to provide a safe shopping experience for our customers and their families.

“For those looking to get their kids ready for their summer, or prepare for Back to School in September, we have an enormous range of kids shoes. We also have dedicated ‘pods’, where each child has their own zone while their feet are measured. We will tailor our staff’s approach and the protective equipment in place, making sure you – and your little ones – are happy.”

Centre Director of Clarks Village, Chris Davis, added: “Clarks Village is thrilled to welcome Clarks latest flagship store to the outlet. The brand is a huge part of our heritage, being the first outlet store to open at the site  in 1993, and we hope the new store will allow shoppers to experience the brand like never before.”

Initially, the new store will have an adults offering supported by handbags and accessories, with the kids store moving over in September after the Back To School period.

Since reopening in June, Clarks Village has introduced a number of safety measures to keep shoppers safe including hand sanitiser points throughout the centre, a one way system to ensure social distancing can be maintained, floor stickers and signs to remind guests to keep the required distance apart and a queuing system for entry to the centre.
