A team from Claims Consortium took on the Three Peaks Challenge in just 24-hours in support of Insurance United Against Dementia (IUAD), an industry initiative established by the Alzheimer’s Society
Sixteen adventurers left head office in Culmhead on Friday morning to climb the three highest peaks in England, Scotland and Wales. They started with Ben Nevis, at a cool 1,344 meters, moving on to Scafell Pike (978 meters) and finishing at Snowden (1,085 meters).
Nine team members succesfully managed to scale all Three Peaks and three even completed the challenge within the 24-hours (running most of the way up Snowdon!).
Jeremy Hyams, CEO at Claims Consortium, said: “I could not be prouder of the team. Dementia is the biggest killer in the UK, and the work that the IUAD is doing to raise awareness of dementia is incredibly important. We are proud to fly the flag for the South West based business.”
Chris Wallace, chairman of Insurance United Against Dementia, added: “It’s fantastic to see Claims Consortium getting behind the IUAD campaign. With half of us affected by dementia – either through diagnosis ourselves or through caring for a loved one – the time to act is now.
“I’m delighted to count Claims Consortium amongst our supporters who are taking action to bring us closer to new treatments for people with dementia. By taking on such a big challenge, the Claims Consortium team have brought dementia into the spotlight, helping to pave the way in transforming people’s awareness and attitudes towards dementia.”
