Claims Consortium Group welcomes non-executive director to board

Rob Smale is joining the board of Claims Consortium Group as a non-executive director. This follows his recent tenure as Transformation Director at Ageas UK, prior to which he held the position of Claims Director.

Well respected across the market, Smale brings with him extensive market knowledge and operational expertise from an Insurer’s perspective, as well as providing a balanced competitor view which compliments the current Claims Consortium Group management team.

Jeremy Hyams, CEO of Claims Consortium Group, said: “We are pleased to welcome Rob to the board of directors; his focus on providing excellent customer service aligns perfectly with our company culture and business strategy.

“He will bring a new perspective to the business and his expertise will help us as we continue to make transformative and disruptive changes not just to our own business, but the wider claims market.”

A known champion of customer service, Claims Consortium is a natural fit for Smale as the group is renowned across the industry for its customer first approach.

“During my time as a claims director I was lucky enough to have Claims Consortium Group as a supply partner. I am thrilled to be asked to join the board as a N.E.D and I hope to assist Jeremy and the rest of the team as they continue to innovate and grow. I believe Claims Consortium is well placed to master their purpose and they have the technology to support it,” said Smale.

This could be viewed as the first indication of some larger disruption to come from Claims Consortium who have made no secret of their desire to revolutionise the status quo of claims handling. If this is the case, then no doubt Smale’s extensive transformation experience will be of even greater value in the months to come.

Smale will take up his new position immediately.
