Clarks Shoes, based in Street, has chosen bibic as its local charity of the year 2019-2020. bibic was up against five other local charities but managed to come top in the staff vote.
Each charity was asked to submit a one-page overview of the work the charity does along with some photographs to back-up the bid.
bibic is a small charity based in Langport Somerset providing help, advice and support for families who have children and young people aged from six months to 25 years with varying, developmental difficulties, physical and mental disabilities and additional needs. bibic skills and empowers parents to be able to help their children with their self-management, emotional well-being and development.
bibic changes family’s lives, empowers parents and children, provides a lifeline when local authorities can’t help, supports the whole family and gives understanding to children and parents.
General Fundraising and Marketing Officer Andy Hirst said: “Applying for Clarks charity of the year was a great team effort with every member of our small team of 12 adding to and fine tuning the bid. We are so pleased and excited to have been nominated and we can’t wait to be working with the staff of Clarks to raise funds for us”
He added: “There are so many ways they raise money for us. From baking cakes, skydiving, running marathons, climbing a mountain, hosting a coffee morning, sponsoring a child, signing up to our lottery or just making donations. The choice is theirs, there are so many ways they can change lives forever”
bibic is due to meet the staff at the Street headquarters soon to present the charity and make plans for the coming exciting year.
