Staff from Somerset chartered accountancy firm A C Mole & Sons (ACM) have raised more than £500 for a local charity for the homeless by taking part in the 5k South West Tough Mudder challenge at Badminton.
A team of four – George Shurley, Moss Macriner, Cristy Twine and Rebecca Bennett – faced 14 obstacles including shoulder-deep water, thick mud and a 25 ft climbing net to complete the rigorous course.
“We had a brilliant time and worked hard as a team to get everyone over the finish line,” said 22-year-old accounts assistant Cristy Twine. “The course was extremely wet and muddy, but thankfully we all made it home without any injuries.”
The sponsored run is just one of a number of events being organised by ACM staff during the year to benefit Arc, a charity for homeless people in Somerset. Services provided by Arc include housing, drop-in centres and early morning walkabouts. ARC also has its own academy where people can obtain qualifications and take part in courses and activities suited to their needs.
Future fundraising events at ACM this year include a quiz night and football tournament.
