Launching today, the prestigious Somerset Business Awards are now open for business – from Wednesday 1 June 2017.
Returning by popular demand, the 13th edition of the Somerset Business Awards launches today, inviting businesses of all shapes and sizes to enter its 14 categories. New for 2017, the Somerset Business Awards organisers, the Somerset Chamber of Commerce, are pleased to announce two new Awards: Investing in Somerset Award and Technology & Innovation Award.
Supported by a host of successful Somerset businesses, the annual business Awards welcomes five new sponsors this year. PKF Francis Clark; sponsoring the Business of the Year 26-50 Award, TDA; judging the Business of the Year 1-10 category, Teapot Creative; sponsoring the New Business of the Year Award, Claims Consortium Group; two time winner and now sponsor of the Service Excellence Award, and Ashfords LLP; who take on the improved Somerset Manufacturer & Producer Award.
Commenting on this year’s Awards, Loren Gray, Events Manager at the Somerset Chamber of Commerce, says, “Each year we are delighted to welcome an increase in entries from many new businesses across the region, and we hope this continues for 2017! We are thrilled to welcome a host of new sponsors to the judging panel and hope our new Award categories inspire the many fantastic businesses across Somerset.”
The official launch event will be held on Tuesday 6 June 2017, at the Mount Somerset Hotel in Taunton, with a helpful workshop for hopeful entrants, hosted by main sponsor, Albert Goodman – returning for the sixth consecutive year – ADPR, sponsors of the Marketing & Promotion Award, and previous winner Yeovil College to explain how far they’ve come since winning in 2016.
Richard Bugler, Managing Partner of Albert Goodman, comments, “We are immensely proud to once again return as the Main Sponsor for the Somerset Business Awards. It’s fantastic to see so many businesses in Somerset continue to flourish and provide valuable growth within the local economy, and it is great to celebrate with these businesses. We wish all the entrants the best of luck with their applications.”
