Nearly 50 attended Somerset Chamber of Commerce’s Simply Networking event with Yeovil Chamber at Westerly BMW on Thursday 8th November. Designed to be a relaxed, informal event that allows new connections to be made without a presentation or meal, Westerly laid on a splendid array of canapes, prosecco and soft drinks and created space in their Yeovil showroom for mingling.
David Woan of Yeovil Chamber commented “Last night’s Town & County Chamber event at the Yeovil Westerly BMW showroom delivered off-the-scale value. I meet a significant number of people in my role via networking events and to have over half the people in the room as new faces is networking gold. The benefit from Town & County joint networking events cannot be over-emphasised; offering regional and local business contact and opportunities in one single hit. Both levels of Chamber offer networking opportunities, but there is a distinct difference: County Chambers provide regional, national and global insight and support; Town Chambers are on the ground, the heartbeat of your town, working with stakeholders and local government. Dual membership is always recommended, to optimise the support delivered by Town and County Chamber, in partnership; delivering value for businesses of all sectors and sizes.”
Stuart Martin, Head of Business at Westlery BMW said “I was delighted to welcome the local business community to Westerly Yeovil for an evening of networking and light refreshments. Everyone participating had the opportunity to exchange ideas and business cards against the back drop of the BMW range of cars. A good time was had by all.”
Alistair Tudor of Somerset Chamber commented “What a great turnout and fantastic to see so many people enjoying networking this evening. Stuart and the team at Westerly BMW laid on a great spread of food and drinks and were happy to let attendees mingle and look around the range of BMW cars. It’s always terrific to work with the town chambers and introduce members of each to each other making new connections. I’ll look forward to working with both David and Stuart again in the new future.”
