Chamber members attend Innovation and Productivity event

Over 20 members of Somerset Chamber of Commerce attended a round table discussion held in association with NatWest at Ashfords Solicitors on the morning of Friday 14th December.

Stephen Henagulph opened the event, welcoming delegates and introducing the event as part of a national project via the BCC.  The event followed the Greater Manchester event on 11 December and proceeds the Surrey round table on 31 January and raising important questions around company culture, investment, automation and education.

Chris Preston of NatWest – Regional Managing Director – SW & Wales Business Banking coordinated the discussions, giving an overview of how the banking sector has responded over the last 10 years and highlighting the funding opportunities and positivity towards those looking to invest in innovation and productivity measures for their business.  The event was received extremely positively with all delegates contributing to the discussion.

Steve Henagulph commented, “I’m delighted to see the collaboration between international organisations and regional chambers demonstrated this morning between Natwest and Somerset Chamber of Commerce.  Its an initiative that’s been replicated across the UK and this mornings event provided useful, constructive and practical discussion on innovation and productivity.  I’ll look forward to following up this up with attendees in the future.”
