St Margaret's Somerset Hospice
St Margaret's Hospice - Community Partnerships Fundraiser
Location: Taunton
Contract: 12 months maternity cover
Salary: £29,400 per annum
Working pattern: 37 hours per week, with options for part-time and hybrid working.
We’re looking for an experienced fundraiser to help drive engagement with the local Somerset community and raise vital funds for the Hospice.
It’s a great time to join the hospice. As well as celebrating a 45th anniversary, 2025 will see the launch of our new five-year strategy. At the heart of this, is the need to challenge perceptions and build greater awareness of what hospice care is today. We want to help people to understand how people can access St Margaret’s and benefit from our outstanding range of services.
This is where you come in! Joining our exceptional team of fundraisers and communication professionals, you will play a key role in engaging with the local community. You will steward our existing brilliant supporters, raise awareness of the hospice’s work, and generate vital funds for our clinical services. Our campaigns are growing year-on-year, and you will be able to get involved in some high-profile projects.
If you would like to join us for the next chapter of St Margaret’s story, we’d love to hear from you.
What can you expect to be doing?
Working as part of a team of five fundraisers, you will help to maximise income opportunities while building visibility for the hospice and inspiring a dedicated community of supporters.
As a Community Partnerships Fundraiser, you will be an ambassador for St Margaret's, providing a first-class supporter experience. Building relationships in the local community, you will deliver an agreed net income across a range of engaging community led events, initiatives, and campaigns.
Your day-to-day role will include:
Assisting with the delivery of pivotal campaigns across the year, including Wear it Yellow, Glorious Gardens, and Christmas Tree Collection. Creating tailored, personalised communications for supporters, ensuring they are fully supported and engaged in their journey with the hospice. Engaging with a wide variety of stakeholders, from local businesses to rotary groups, churches, or individuals undertaking fundraising on our behalf. Developing and nurturing a strong network of volunteers, raising the profile of the hospice, and motivating others to join our community of fundraisers.
What can you expect to be good at?
You will be:
A confident communicator. You will be comfortable interacting with a wide range of people, from business owners, teachers, rotary clubs, and local families who are keen to support the hospice in memory of loved ones. Able to work independently and as part of a dynamic team to organise events and campaigns to generate funds. Well organised, able to adapt to opportunities as they arise, and able plan ahead to meet agreed deadlines and targets. Experienced in community and event fundraising, happy to support with developing corporate partnerships, and able hit the ground running in our anniversary year!
Part of this role will involve travelling across Somerset to look after supporters who are raising funds on our behalf. As such, the ability to drive and access to transport is an essential requirement.
