It’s a great time to join the hospice. As well as celebrating a milestone anniversary, 2025 will see the launch of our new five-year strategy. At the heart of this, is the need to challenge perceptions and build greater awareness of what hospice care is today. We want to help people to understand how people can access St Margaret’s and benefit from our outstanding range of services.
This is where you come in! Joining our outstanding team of fundraisers and communication professionals, you will play a key role in engaging with the local community. You will steward our existing brilliant supporters, raise awareness of the hospice’s work, and generate vital funds for our clinical services
If you would like to join us for the next chapter of St Margaret’s story, we’d love to hear from you.
What can you expect to be doing?
You will play a crucial role in building brand awareness through our interactions with the community during our 45th anniversary year. You will also put the foundations in place for the next generation of fundraisers.
We have an exciting schedule of events, campaigns and community engagement activities planned for 2025 – and you will be a key part of that.
Your day-to-day work will include:
Managing a team of 5. Leading by example, you will motivate and inspire colleagues, helping them achieve success through a shared vision. Ensuring a joined-up, collaborative approach across the fundraising directorate, prioritising the supporter experience. Helping to embed relationships both within the hospice (including with our 31 charity shops and clinical teams) and externally to maximise our community engagement across Somerset. Developing and delivering strategic action plans to generate income for the hospice. Oversee engagement with our local community, whether that’s individuals, groups, schools, churches, and local businesses who want to support the hospice.
What can you expect to be good at?
You will:
Be an experienced line-manager, who knows how to get the best out of people. Have experience in organising and overseeing a range of mass participation and challenge events. Thrive on new challenges, always with a positive outlook about what can be achieved. Be comfortable building relations, whether it’s with local business, schools or individuals fundraising on our behalf. Understand the value of delivering gold-standard supporter experiences. Have a good grasp of the regulations that govern fundraising. You will ensure all of St Margaret’s events, campaigns and products are delivered safely and effectively, while maximising impact for the hospice and the wider community.
