Freelance Educator

Responsibilities and Duties:

To be part of a bank of Freelance Educators whom ESS Education and Support Services can call upon to assist with delivery of education and training provision to students, many of whom are vulnerable and have disengaged or are disengaging with the normal school curriculum and/or environment. SEN experience is desirable.

Provision of education and training may be delivered either on a one-to-one basis, or to groups of students; depending on requirements of the contract with the school, college, or parents with whom ESS Education and Support Services are working.

It is expected that, when approached by ESS, if a bank Educator agrees to take on a provision; they will be committing to deliver that provision to the end of the provision contract.

Subjects for which we are seeking Educators in:

Early Years First Aid English Health and Safety Maths Sports/Physical Education Languages Hairdressing and Barbering Beauty Therapy Art Health & Social Care Mental Health & Wellbeing Cookery Construction Face Painter/Body Art

Qualifications and Certifications required:

· Up to date DBS certification (or willingness to obtain/update)

· Up to date Prevent and Safeguarding certification (or willingness to obtain/update)

· UK recognised Teaching Qualification (Level 3 standard) *

Desirable/preferred Qualifications and Experience

· A formal qualification in the subject you are teaching or

· Evidence of skill to deliver in that subject area

· Ability to deliver GCSE equivalent level subject material, when necessary, would be an advantage.

Personal Characteristics:

We are seeking individuals who have a passion for sharing their knowledge and the patience and skills needed to do so and to work with young people and sometimes with other students of all ages to deliver the education they need. Compassion, kindness, impartiality, patience, drive and determination and the ability to deal with sometimes challenging behaviours, are some of the characteristics we hope to find in the Educators joining our bank of qualified professionals.

* If you do not currently have a teaching qualification but have the evidence of your ability to successfully deliver learning of the subject matter; as long as you are willing to work to obtain a suitable Teaching Qualification, we may still be able to add you to our bank of Educators

Salary: £25 per hour
