The benefits of using our FREE service are:
• Candidates who are matched to the needs of your business
• An opportunity to check that the candidate is right for you with supported ‘work trials’
• Ongoing in-work support, aimed at reducing staff turnover
• Help to achieve a diverse workforce
• Improved employee wellbeing and satisfaction
• A quality assured NHS service

We also provide professional support for health service users experiencing difficulties at work as a result of mental health problems, and we liaise with their mental healthcare team and their employer. As an NHS service, we have excellent partnerships, but we are also independent and aim for positive outcomes for all.

The Employment Support Service is accessible to individuals who are already receiving mental health care from Somerset NHS Foundation Trust.

If you have concerns about the mental health of an employee who is not already receiving such care, there are simple steps you can take to support them:

– Suggest that they discuss mental health concerns with their doctor
– Offer time to talk confidentially about work pressures and stresses with a line manager
– Refer your employee to an occupational health advisor if this is available
– Consider simple changes to work that will support their mental health, including changes to hours, shifts and duties, or offering additional support for a period of time
