Eight steps to create your stand-out communications strategy
Business across all sectors face even more challenges in today’s volatile, uncertain world. They must be relevant and connect with those who matter or be left behind. Communications can help organisations address this challenge. Engaging staff, customers and stakeholders in the right way can help. A communications strategy is, therefore, vital to set out who they need to engage with, how and when.
Delivered by local communications consultancy, Distinctive, this workshop will cover the essentials to creating a realistic, workable strategy that helps organisations communicate effectively.
Aimed at colleagues who are responsible for communications, it will draw on best practice and tried and tested approaches to provide participants with a greater understanding of communications strategies and what they need to work well.
The workshop will be useful for those who want to understand how communications can better support their businesses to earn the trust, respect – and customers they need to succeed.
The format will be a presentation covering an eight step process, with plenty of time for Q&As. Distinctive will also be able to share practical tips and real-life examples to help bring them to life.
Attendees will leave with the knowledge of the key principles of putting a strategy together – and an insight into the eight steps that all strategies need. Attendees will also receive a strategy template, comms planner and an offer to discuss their comms challenges in a separate session (if required).
Ben Lowndes, Director: The training workshop will be delivered by Distinctive’s founding director Ben Lowndes, who has created and delivered communications strategies for local and national organisations. Ben is one of only 400 chartered PR practitioners in the UK and has delivered award-winning campaigns for public and private bodies over a 20-year career. Ben has provided wide-ranging communications support for some of the South West’s most high profile and complex projects. He founded Distinctive after growing Social’s South West agency from its inception in 2017, to one of the region’s best known specialist consultancies in 2022. Ben is an excellent writer and communicator who can distil complex detail to create content that people ‘get’. One of around 400 Chartered PR practitioners in the UK, Ben is passionate about places and communications’ role in supporting them.
