Training workshop - Discovering new Microsoft Excel functions

Attendees on this workshop will be introduced to some of the new functionality which Microsoft has released in Excel 365, including dynamic arrays and functions that make lookup analysis and text handling easier and more powerful. Spreadsheets using this new functionality are more efficient and less prone to error.
Attendees will discover the benefits of using some of the key new functions and discuss how they work with Excel's revamped calculation engine (dynamic array capability). They will leave the workshop confident of using these new functions instead of the legacy functions they may still be using!
This workshop is aimed at experienced Excel users who are still using Excel's VLOOKUP function and who are either unaware of its replacement function and the other new functions and features recently introduced, or simply have not found the time in their working day to explore them.
This is an Excel workshop covering intermediate/advanced level skills. It is not suitable for beginners.
Attendees should be comfortable with working in the Excel environment and be competent with data entry, editing and formatting tasks.
They must have experience of entering formulae and functions, particularly functions with multiple arguments such as IF and VLOOKUP. Knowledge of tables, sorting and filtering is useful but not essential.
Note: The functionality covered on this workshop is only found in Excel 365 which is part of the Microsoft 365 subscription product. The workshop will be conducted on Windows based Excel 365.
The workshop format is interactive; attendees are expected to bring their own laptops to participate in the hands-on content. There will be demonstrations in Excel of the topics and attendees are encouraged to join in with these on their own laptops (trainer discretion – skills permitting) and simple exercises they do on their own.

This training workshop will be delivered by Sally Williams, of SJM Training

SJM Training provides expert IT training and consultancy on Microsoft Office and bespoke systems. Sally Williams MCT, MLPI is the managing director of SJM Training. She has over 30 years’ experience in training people to use Excel efficiently and effectively and of working on custom spreadsheet solutions for businesses of all sizes and from all sectors.
The SJM Training approach to training is different from many companies who run introduction, intermediate and advanced courses. With her real-life experience outside the classroom, Sally can ask the right questions to discover what you want to achieve from training – people do not always know what they need to know! Customised training content is created to be relevant to users, leading to greater understanding of functionality, faster application of knowledge in the workplace and better retention.
Sally finds great personal satisfaction in helping people solve their problems, improve their knowledge, and make their working lives easier. Businesses benefit by gaining more productive and less frustrated employees.
