Somerset Skills Forum: Construction Green Skills Roundtable - April 2025

Join this roundtable for construction employers and shape the future of education and skills training provided in Somerset.

This event, part of the Somerset Skills Forum initiative, aims to connect employers and industry professionals with senior representatives from Somerset’s education providers to collaboratively tackle skills gaps.

As the region responds to its net zero ambitions, retrofitting existing properties and installation of renewable technologies for green energy consumption continues to increase. In addition, there is a need to raise awareness of the new and emerging career opportunities for Somerset’s young people, and ensure the education and training provision is in place to retrain the existing workforce for businesses. This roundtable discussion facilitated by Somerset Chamber, will share good practice and ideas for industry and education to collaborate further.
Attendees will be employer representatives at manager or director level within Somerset businesses that have, or will require a workforce with green skills in construction. Those attending will be responsible for attracting, retaining and developing the workforce.
