Chamber CEO responds to Parliament decision to hold summer General Election
Dale Edwards, CEO of Somerset Chamber of Commerce, has passed comment on Parliament's decision to hold a General Election later this year on 8 June.
"Here we go again to the polls on 8 June 2017. Whilst the announcement was a surprise to many, when taking a step back, there are many logical economic and political reasons behind the decision made by Theresa May. A strong government with a clear mandate is needed to give long-term confidence and certainty for businesses to plan for the future.
"I look forward to examining the various manifestos and want to be reassured that the key challenges facing the economy and businesses will be at the heart of their thinking."
