As recently published on the Highways Agency website http://www.highways.gov.uk/roads/projects/20945.aspx, the second phase of activity was successfully completed during November and December and involved preparation work for the widening, continued drainage work, signage and safety fencing.

Phase 3 started on the 18 January and will continue until mid March 2010. This will comprise drainage channel construction and signage (24 hour single lane closure on three lane section of Chaddenwick Hill for 4 weeks) and major surfacing and drainage channel works (24 hour closure for 5 weeks from 15th February, excluding unusual weather risk). During the full closure traffic will be diverted onto the following routes:

·       All eastbound traffic to use the A37/A361/A36 except high loads;

·       High loads to use A359/A371/A361/A36; and 

·       All westbound traffic to use A350/B3081 through Gillingham
