7.1  By registering with Somerset Chamber of Commerce (SCoC) website you agree to let SCoC use and store your personal data. The registration process requires you to provide us with your business email address, address, contact details, ownership profile and employee profiles and such other data as we may request from time to time. SCoC may use this information, in accordance with its obligations under the Data Protection Act 1998, to:

7.1.1  Provide you with access to and take action in respect of SCoC Website;

7.1.2  Contact you in connection with the Purpose, other business opportunities, and other business support advice and information;

7.1.3  Evaluate SCoC Website;

7.1.4  Monitor diversity;

7.1.5  Target resources; and

7.1.6  To carry out other activities in relation to the SCoC Website and the Purpose as permitted by law.

7.2     SCoC may share the information you have provided with other parties including its Patrons, partners and the Organisation. SCoC does not sell or rent your information to others but may send some or all of this information to other companies, organisations or people in the following situations:

7.2.1  Agents and partners: SCoC may share your information with third parties and organisations which we employ or with which we co-operate to support business improvement.  These agents and partners may use the information in furtherance of the Purpose or to contact you about other business opportunities which may be of interest to you. SCoC accepts no liability for the use of your information by any agent or partner.

7.2.2  Compliance with law, fraud and risk avoidance: SCoC will release information where it is required or permitted to do so by law or by the regulations and other rules (including auditing requirements) to which it is subject. SCoC may in particular exchange information with other companies and organisations for fraud protection and credit risk reduction; and

7.2.3  Consent: Other than to the extent permitted by this Access Agreement SCoC will not share your personal information with third parties without your consent.

7.3    You have the right to ask for a copy of any personal information held by SCoC in its records in return for which you may be charged a fee. You also have the right to require us to correct any inaccuracies in your personal information.

8 Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold us and any of our officers, employees and agents harmless from and against all and any expenses, losses, liabilities, damages, costs or expenses incurred or suffered and any claims or legal proceedings which are brought or threatened, in each case arising from your use of, or conduct on, the Web Site and/or a breach of these terms and conditions.

9 Termination

We may terminate the provision of the Web Site or restrict your access to it without any prior notice to you.

Unless otherwise expressly stated in these terms and conditions, all notices from you to us must be in writing and sent to our contact address at:

11 Invalidity

12 Third Party Rights

A person who is not a party to these terms and conditions has no right under the UK Contracts (Rights of Third Parties) Act 1999 to enforce any term of this agreement but this does not affect any right or remedy of a third party that exists or is available apart from that Act.

13 Governing Law

These terms and conditions are governed by and will be interpreted in accordance with English law and the English courts will have exclusive jurisdiction to resolve any disputes between us.

14 Complaints

We continually strive to provide you with a high standard of service and welcome feedback regarding all aspects of our services.  If you are dissatisfied with any aspect of our service please contact Dale Edwards, CEO, Equity House, Blackbrook Park Avenue, Blackbrook Business Park, Taunton, Somerset TA1 2PX.  Your complaint will be answered within 10 working days.  If it is a more complex matter, you should expect an acknowledgement within 5 working days and a full answer within 15 working days.

15 Events

To book an event you must be registered on the Somerset Chamber of Commerce website.

After completing registration and booking on to the event(s) of your choice, you will receive an automated paid or pending (dependent on chosen method of payment) email  invoice from the Somerset Chamber of Commerce.

By completing and registering to attend an event you are agreeing to the submission of your email address to the Somerset Chamber e-newsletter.

By completing, registering and attending an event you are agreeing that any photographs; video; sound recordings taken of you may be used by the Somerset Chamber of Commerce and possibly the clients of Somerset Chamber of Commerce for any promotional purposes.

Payment for all events are to be made prior to the event taking place.

If you are unable to attend an event then you must inform the Somerset Chamber no later than 3 working days prior to the event to be entitled to a full refund, following this time payment is non-refundable. Any outstanding payment would still be required in full. Cancellations should be by email to events@somerset-chamber.co.uk or by telephoning 01823 444924.

If you have informed the Somerset Chamber that you are unable to attend the event within the required timescale, a full refund will be given using the same payment method that was used to make the original booking.

We value the participation of each member of the business community and want all attendees to have an enjoyable and fulfilling experience. Accordingly, all attendees are expected to show respect and courtesy to other delegates/attendees, speakers, exhibitors, organizers and volunteers throughout all Somerset Chamber events.

16 Event Sponsors

In the circumstances that the event you sponsor is cancelled, sponsorship monies are non-refundable due to the fact that significant promotion would have been already been received.
