hmrc logoOn 18th April 2005 HM Customs and Excise merged with the Inland Revenue to form a single Department 'HM Revenue and Customs' (HMRC).
 
This new department provides assistance on any matter relating to Importing or Exporting goods. Information & Guides provides assistance on a range of subjects from classifying your goods to using our online facilities. JCCC Papers, Business Briefs and Information Sheets are all available in their Library section.

The HMRC website really is a one-stop-shop for import and export information. It should be the first place you should go when starting out in importing and exporting, even if you still employ an agent.

South West of England Regional Development Agency:
Offering support, information and news on the regions exports. Information is hard to find on the website so we suggest typing in 'export advice' or 'export' into the search form to find information.
Institute of Export:
The Institute of Export was established in 1935 and is incorporated as a Registered Charity. The Institute’s 'Mission' is to enhance the export performance of the UK by setting and raising professional standards in international trade management and export practice. This is achieved principally by the provision of education and training programmes.

A Bristol based company that holds a database of over 20,000 UK exporting companies which includes 2,800 catalogue pages.

Their Information Services are used by thousands of organisations, companies and individuals worldwide - helping them find suppliers, companies, products or services. If you cannot find the product, service or company you are looking for simply fill in their on-line Enquiry Form or E-mail your enquiry to their offices.

They will search for the appropriate suppliers for you, notify them by telephone of your requirements and reply to you with the full contact details of all companies that may be able to help you.
