E flat minor was the brainchild of its directors Jules Addison and Lucy Deakin. As both have degrees in music, the company was originally conceived as a record label specialising in the recording and distribution of classical music, hence the name. This, however, was only the beginning and the Directors wanted to expand on this by bringing together their commercial experience gained within the office interiors and audio visual industries.

At the end of 2005 the company was relocated to Somerset partly due to the personal aspirations of the directors to live and work in the South West and also an opportunity was realized to bring the company into an area where there is little competition particularly in the audio visual marketplace. Having joined the Somerset Chamber in December 2006 we hope this will enable us to work closer with other businesses in Somerset and the South West for mutual gain.

Sometimes it is difficult to see how a business can be unique given the number of company’s which exist. Consequently the directors at e flat minor have taken a different angle. Rather than try to be totally unique they have elected to focus their efforts on client satisfaction and management. This may sound like the usual “jargon” but it is at the heart of the e flat minor ethos.

Our director Jules Addison explains; “Our customers are the most important ingredient to the business and upon whom we depend.” As a result Jules spends a lot of his time travelling round to meet clients face to face as he believes this enables him to get a far clearer understanding of their requirements and therefore provide a better solution as a result. “When I am discussing an audio visual project with a client, I don’t bombard them with science, model numbers or statistics. The conversation is almost entirely about the client’s vision and what their business hopes to gain by purchasing new furniture or audio visual equipment. Consequently any discussion of projector models or brands is often left to the end.”

A Brief Company Resume The Directors Jules Addison and Lucy Deakin both have many years commercial experience behind them gained in a number of disciplines.

Jules has been involved in the audio visual industry since the mid 1990’s and has a wealth of experience in supplying customized solutions into a wide range of businesses in both the private and public sector.

Lucy has spent many years working in business administration which coupled with her design skills enables e flat minor to offer clients a professional project driven approach which is so important in interior design and furnishing.

E Flat Minor also employs a business development team to allow them to further explore new opportunities for the business. In addition we have a team of professional furniture fitters as well as fully qualified and accredited audio visual engineers who have many years experience in the industry. We believe that people are our company’s best asset and it is because of their skills and dedication that the company has been successful to date.

Our company has always been based around a “can do” attitude. We like to start from the premise that anything is possible. Rather than trying to fit clients into pre determined pigeon holes, we always look for a bespoke solution which meets a particular requirement. Just because it was done that way yesterday doesn’t mean it can’t be done a different way tomorrow. We hope that our clients find this approach a refreshing change in today’s automated society and its not a case of “computer says no!”.
