Meet the Team - Somerset Chamber Staff
Somerset Chamber Staff
Chief Executive - Dale Edwards
I was delighted to be appointed in October 2015 as the new Chief Executive of the Somerset Chamber of Commerce. Throughout my career I have been actively involved with various Chambers of Commerce and have experienced the many benefits that membership can bring.
I am passionate about helping to develop people and promoting business in Somerset and the wider South West. Having lived in the beautiful Blackdown Hills since 2007, where we moved to be closer to family in Somerset and Devon, I have developed relationships with many individuals, businesses and organisations in the South West – primarily through my role as Chief Executive of Exeter Leukemia Fund, a role that I held for over six years. Prior to my time at the charity I held a number of senior positions in business finance companies including Hitachi Capital PLC and Abbey Business.
In my free time, my wife and I love walking our energetic dogs along the South West Coast path. Family and friends are very important to us and we love to entertain – I enjoy cooking on these occasions with a nice glass of red beside me. In addition I love most sports, in particular rugby and spend time watching Exeter Chiefs.
Service Delivery Manager - Jenn Chidley-Sanders (Maternity Leave from July 2016)
I joined the Chamber full time in February 2011 looking after and expanding the Chamber events programme. At the start of 2012 I was offered a permanent role within the Chamber to look after the marketing and communication, a new challenge but one I’ve enjoyed. This is a full time position at the Chamber.
My working background is varied to say the least starting my career with a short teaching job in India and then back to a role in technical customer support for a security software company. During my time there I took a 6 month sabbatical to explore the world and came back a little wiser and more adventurous. I then moved onto work for a challenge events company working with charities, corporates and individuals.
For the past 14 years I have worked in bars and restaurants (running along side other jobs) which, for those of you that know me will know, fulfils my need to chat and socialise.
I enjoy keeping active with rock climbing, salsa dancing and running (time allowing) taking key roles in my life. Rock climbing in particular has had a significant impact over the years taking me to a variety of gorgeous locations and allowing me to meet my husband.

Marketing & Communications Manager – Carla Tier
I am delighted to have recently joined the Somerset Chamber of Commerce team as the Marketing and Communications Manager.
My key role is working to develop a strong brand and ensure effective delivery of the Chamber’s marketing and communications strategy across the Chamber’s various marketing channels.
Throughout my career I have developed industry specific expertise in legal services, retail/eCommerce and insurance. Prior to joining the Chamber, I worked for Creation, a Bristol based marketing agency where I headed up the Digital Marketing Team. Working Agency side allowed me the opportunity to work with a very diverse range of clients from small local businesses to large companies such as National Plastics and RAC. I also spent over 8 years as the Marketing Manager for Somerset based law firm Pardoes Solicitors.
Outside of work, I enjoy a very active lifestyle with a particular passion for road cycling and skiing. I can often be found cycling around the Somerset countryside during the lighter evenings and regularly take part in group rides with the Somerset Road Club. I am also a member of the Army Reserves having served with the Royal Signals for over 9 years.

Events Manager - Loren Gray
My role at the chamber is to organise the busy events programme. We currently hold around 40-50 events annually. The aim of our events are to provide value and networking opportunities for our members.
I have some experience in events organising which I developed during my role as Vice President of the Junior Common Room Committee at Reading University. This was a voluntarily role which I thoroughly enjoyed in between my studies in Consumer Behaviour and Marketing. I have also worked in residential lettings, retail and private health insurance.
I am Somerset born and bred and very proud of this although I am also half-Mauritian and try to see the family as often as I can (funds allowing). I recently took up zumba which is a lot of fun; I also love being outdoors. During summer if I’m not at the beach I will either be in the garden with a book, on my bike or enjoying a walk in the country.
